After Lifelong Struggle with Addiction & Rehab, ‘Lost Boy’ Dies at 38

Apparent Drug Overdose
80’s teen heart throb, Corey Haim has died this morning of an apparent accidental drug overdose. According to reports, autopsy results will determine the final cause of death. According to his mother, who found her son, Haim had been suffering flulike symptoms in the previous days. A search of Haim’s Burbank apartment yielded prescription drugs – but no illicit ones. In the past, Haim has spoke about his drug addiction and stay in rehab for prescription drugs.

Living Sober with the Two Coreys

Fellow ‘Lost Boy’, Corey Feldman has expressed concern about his friend’s addiction. Dubbed “The Two Coreys”, the pair would star in numerous films throughout the 80’s and even had their own reality TV show in 2007. Feldman had his own drug problems throughout the 80’s. Feldman was able to turn his life around and found success with living sober while Haim could not. The TV show ended as Feldman vowed not to work with his friend until Haim got clean.

A Self-Proclaimed Chronic Relapser

Instead of traditional programs, many celebs may opt for outpatient drug rehab for a more flexible schedule. According to his IMDb page, Haim was at work filming several projects, with many others due later in 2010. In a 2007 interview with Larry King , Haim revealed himself as “a chronic relapser for the rest of my life.” It’s sad to see things end this way for him. RIP Corey.
